Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) on Thursday concluded the first stage of the third annual program for developing media skills for youth. This program is arranged in collaboration with Life Makers' team during the period from 13-15 July, 2009.
The first period of the program included a training course in which 19 participants from the faculties of languages, mass communication and pharmacy took part.
The participants were trained on writing statements, press releases, making interviews, writing press investigations and reports according to professional standards. They also learned how to deal with and contact sources.
The coordinator of the course at Life Makers' team Salah al-Deenal-Sharafi said that he learned a lot of knowledge of the course, pointing out that he will apply them on the ground.
WJWC's training and qualification coordinator Hanan al-Akhali said that the youth program and media is considered the third program organized by WJWC, pointing out that It aimed to develop youth's media skills. She indicated that this program targeted students of Sana'a University.
Al-Akhali called youth who want to develop their media skills to join this program in its second and third stage and register at the headquarters of the organization.
