Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) has established a camp for the displaced women of al-Ja'ashin (al-Ja'ashin is an area in ibb governorate) and their children who left their villages because they were threatened by a tribal leader of al-Ja'ashin.
The sheikh of al-Ja'ashin Mohammed Ahmed Mansour deported a number of civilians from al-Ja'ashin. These people have been living at the headquarters of the Women Media Practitioners Forum for more than a month. They are waiting for justice. However, the Yemeni authorities do ignore their issue because the sheikh has close relation to President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
In a statement, WJWC denounced this heinous crime against the people of al-Ja'ashin, stressing that the stances of the authorities are feeble and deeply disappointing.
It further called the authorities to take strict actions against the sheikh of al-Ja'ashin and punish him, pointing out that the sheikh want to enslave people.
It also appealed to all civil society organizations and human rights activists to express their solidarity with displaced women of al-Ja'ashin, affirming its determination to transfer their camp into the Freedom Square in front of the cabinet in case the government continued ignorance to their case.
