WJWC condemns assaults by Houthis against mothers of detainees

Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) strongly denounces the assaults carried out by militias of the Houthis against mothers of detainees while they were protesting in front of the Political Security Apparatus's prison, demanding to release their sons.

WJWC decries that scores of Houthi militias attacked with rifles' butts on mothers and wives of detainees held at the custodies of the Houthis.
While we denounce brutal acts committed against protesting women, we express full solidarity with women demanding to release their relatives held inside jails and custodies of the militias.
We also highly praise the pioneering roles played by Yemeni women to defend human rights, renewing our demands to swiftly release detained politicians and journalists who have been detained for more than one year, holding the Houthi militias full responsible for their safety and lives.
We also urge all human rights organizations to express solidarity with the families of detainees and denouncing the savagery committed against them by the militias.
