Dozens of mothers and female relatives of abductees in Ibb province, on Thursday, held a protest against the abduction of dozens of the province’s residents by the Houthi militia and forces loyal to the deposed president Ali Saleh.

The demonstration organized in front of the local authority’s building in the city centre demanded to release abductees, uncover the fate of the disappeared and stop the crimes of torture.

With the participation of female activists and media workers, the protestors called on the militias of Houthis and ousted president to quickly release those in detention centers and refraining from abducting people of the province.

The mothers and families of the abductees have called on civil society organizations and human rights organizations to stand beside them, support their demands and help them file lawsuits against the militia leaders involved in the torture to death of prisoners.

In the meanwhile, the raised slogans and expressions condemning the crimes of torture against abductees by Saleh-Houthi militias.

It is worth mentioning that the Iran-backed Houthi militias allied with forces loyal to ousted president Saleh keep carrying out large-scale campaigns against opponents and civilians in the province after its invasion in October 2014.
