Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) condemns the attack on the member of the National Dialogue Conference Fuad al-Hemyari by gunmen on the ground of publishing a corruption document against the Yemeni Economic Corporation.
Al-Hemyari, an activist of the 2011 revolution and a leader of the Islah party published a document which revealed huge amounts which were given to supporters of ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh in al-Tahreer Square in Sana’a City in 2011 alone.
The document mentioned that about YR2 billion were spent and the cost of food from one restaurant amounted YR 131.423.000.
Al-Hemyari presented the document while visiting a team of the National Dialogue Conference to the Yemeni Economic Corporation.
WJWC describes the attack as vicious, holding the Interior Ministry and the interim government responsible for the protection of al-Hemyari and calling to the investigation in the incident and arrest the culprits.
