WJWC denies abduction of al-Jazeera broadcasting vehicle, its driver
Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) denounces the abduction of Aljazeera broadcasting vehicle and its driver on Saturday in Sana'a city by persons wearing military uniforms.
Four persons wearing military uniforms intercepted the vehicle's driver, tied his hands and legs and took his vehicle into outside Sana'a City.
The gunmen took the driver to the area of Jawlat Amran as a hostage and then threw him on the road.
While denying such acts against journalists, and local and international media outlets, WJWC expresses deep concern at the repeated attacks on media practitioners and correspondents, voicing its solidarity with Aljazeera Channel.
We demand the competent authorities to investigate into the incident and swiftly arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
We also call all human rights groups and civil society organizations to deny such criminal acts committed against TV correspondents.
