Ar Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) condemns threats by a member of Parliament (Tuaiman( against the journalist Rashad al-Sahafi on the ground of publishing press articles.
The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate said it received a notification from Rashad al-Shara'abi, pointing out that he was threatened by MP Tuaiman for three times.
Al-Shara'abi told YJS that Tuaiman called him and asked him in attempt to know his house address, threatening him with punishment due to his press articles.
WJWC demands the Interior Minister to investigate into repeated threats against journalists by known or unknown sides.
It also demands the interim government to protect journalists, holding it responsible for their safety and pointing out that threats against them have intensified lately.
