Unfortunately, Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) knew that Ibb's Appellate Court handed a death sentence against Raja al-Hakami.
However, Al-Hakami is only a victim which defended herself when a gunman tried to storm into her house with the aim of raping her when her husband was outside the country and she was living alone.
WJWC refuses and decries this unjust judgment which violates all legislations and the World Declaration of Human Rights which provides: No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honor and reputation.
WJWC denounces this sentence and expresses its full solidarity with the victim Raja al-Hakami. She also appeal to the Higher Court and the Judiciary Council to intervene and cancel this judgment because al-Hakami defended herself, her house and honor.
WJWC calls all human rights organizations, lawyers and journalists to condemn this sentence and express solidarity with Raja al-Hakami vial all legitimate ways.
