Istanbul-based Belqees TV has reported that its correspondent in Yemen’s Taiz province, Fawaz al-Hammadi, has escaped an attempted murder by gunmen in the city.
A group of gunmen intercepted him along with other journalists while on their way to al-Dhabab area near the central city and fired shots in the direction of them, and some bullets lodged in their car, according to the TV reporter.
The Yemeni channel has condemned the vicious attack on the colleague al-Hammadi and his fellows and demanded the Yemeni journalists' union to condemn this abuse as well, noting that the local authorities are fully accountable for the correspondent’s life.
