WJWC condemns assault onSuhail's crew

Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) denounces the abduction of Suhail TV reporter Kamal Jamal and its cameraman Yahya al-Awar while performing their journalism mission on Tuesday, February 02, 2016. 

Houthi militias, who were in military uniforms and had Houthi slogans on their weapons, kidnapped Jamal and al-Awar while they were preparing a field report at Sana'a University campus. They detained them at 14 October Police Station run Houthi militias. 

WJWC condemns the continuation of violence used against reporters of local and international TV channels with the aim of gagging their mouths and barring the transmission of facts. 

It also denounces appalling acts committed against peaceful protesters who oppose coup and demand to bring it to an end. 

While WJWC expresses its solidarity with Suhail TV reporter and cameraman, they holds the Houthis responsible for their safety.
