Shabwa governor jails journalist and refers him to investigation

A local source in Shabwa province located in the southeast of the country said that a journalist was interrogated and put in prison by order of the province governor against the background of the latter's participation in a protest rally against the so-called "Southern Transitional Council.

According to the source, the deputy director of Yemen’s pro-government news agency (Saba), Omar al-Har, was imprisoned and referred to investigation by order of Shabwa governor.

In a telephone conversation with almasdaronline, the source, who is also close to the journalist, stressed that the colleague al-Har detained at the Criminal Investigation Headquarters is being held for questioning.

The source expressed his surprise at this disgraceful behavior, noting that the constitution and the law ensured the right to express opinion in all circumstances.
