Mothers of Abductees demands international investigation into murders under torture in Houthi jails

The Sana’a-based association of abductees’ mothers on Thursday called for an international probe into the torture-to-death crimes in prisons of the Houthi militia and ousted president Ali Saleh.

In a statement issued today, the association said a formation of an independent international commission to investigate into crimes in prisons of the putschists has become an urgent requirement for all mothers of the kidnapped.

The Association denounced the silence of local and international human rights organizations over the crimes committed against the innocent abductees in militia-controlled prisons.

The mothers of abductees renewed the call for the immediate release of prisoners kidnapped or forcibly disappeared in private jails affiliated to the Iran-backed Houthi group and its close ally ousted president, holding them responsible for all what has happened to them.

According to statistics of human rights organizations, the number of abductees who were killed as a result of torture inside Houthi prisons has amounted to 70 abductees; some of them died under torture while other used as human shields.
