A Yemeni journalist has been pursued and arrested by the criminal investigation unit under control of the Iran-backed Houthi militia and ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Yemen’s capital, according to Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS).
In a statement issued by the YJS today, the colleague, Shaher Sa’ad, has been in prison affiliated to the investigation unit for a few days due to personal disputes with a co-worker in the Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Yemeni affiliate of the IFJ has condemned this abuse by the criminal investigation unit, which “has become a tool used by influential people to plunge those who are in disagreement with them into prisons."
The YJS demanded the concerned authorities to urgently release the colleague Shaher Sa’ad.
