Inhabitants of village in al-Bayda displaced by Saleh-Houthi militias at gunpoint

Houthi militia and forces loyal to deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh have forcibly displaced residents of al-Manabeha village in Qayfa district to the north of the central province of al-Bayda, local residents said on Monday.

Residents of the village have reported that Houthi militants and forces loyal to ousted president Ali Saleh, aboard a number of vehicles, stormed the village, broke into houses and forcibly displaced the villagers under pretext that they support elements of the Popular Resistance.

One resident said the Houthi militia threatened them that if they insisted on staying in their homes, they would bomb the village completely, on the heads of the population.

"The villagers were forced to leave their homes and flee the village under the force of arms."

The Houthi militia and Saleh’s forces have already displaced hundreds of civilians from their homes in a number of Yemeni governorates, increasing the number of displaced people who are lacking in the minimum of shelter and accommodation and they are living in the open.
